FLATONIA CITY COUNCIL: CHAOS AND RESIGNATIONS

Dennis Geesaman’s time on the City Council was full of mismanagement of city funds.

Financial Mismanagement Scandal

In 2020, the City of Flatonia hired a new City Manager to address serious administrative problems, including an investigation into longtime City Secretary Melissa Brunner.

An independent investigator found:

  • “Numerous red flags” in city operations

  • Tens of thousands of dollars in losses

  • Failure to pay employee insurance

  • Missing receipts

  • Questionable taxpayer-funded travel

  • Failure to transfer funds as directed by council

Flatonia taxpayers were left footing the bill.

CITY MANAGER RESIGNS AFTER “LACK OF SUPPORT”

A new city manager was brought in to clean up the mess, but Geesaman didn’t support the effort and voted to get rid of the city manager.

Just over a year later, she resigned.

In her resignation letter, she cited a “lack of support from elected leaders.”

When her resignation came before the council:

  • Two council members voted to reject it

  • Dennis Geesaman moved to accept it

  • The resignation passed 3–2

Days later, the newly hired City Secretary also resigned, submitting a five-page letter alleging internal conflict and dysfunction within city leadership.

UNION BOSS: FUNNELLED THOUSANDS TO D.C. DEMOCRATS

Union boss Dennis Geesaman served as Vice Chair of a powerful labor union that sent money to Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Collin Allred, Jasmine Crockett, and other Washington Democrats.

While Pelosi and Schumer pushed higher spending, open borders, and radical policies, Geesaman’s union helped bankroll that agenda.

Follow the money.
